confess: /kənˈfes/ admit or acknowledge something reluctantly
i confess.
that i climbed over folks, who gave me hands.
my fingers peeled away their faces, and my feet
sank deeply into their backs. when i pressed
against their generous nature-a necessary lever
needed to pushed myself up
and out; leaving burned, on their skin.
their DNA soot- crusted and lingering under my nails
i confess,
my burdens are not the men
who made me, but the people,
who let them do the unimaginable things.
the burden is how it turned me
into a serial killer of a twenty-something,
single white fiasco; a repeat offender, of primitive reactions
to her reasons.
i confess,
i tangled others in the mire and took some of their
pieces. to replace my pieces . all of us incomplete,
in the end.
